Slice, Dice & Rice - A Unique Fighting Game

Slice, Dice & Rice is a one-of-a-kind indie fighting game developed by Arc System Works, available on Nintendo Switch. The game is heavily inspired by Bushido Blade and focuses on finding an opening in the opponent's defense to end the round with a single hit. The game does not have health bars, and every scratch impairs the movement of the player, making every wound count.

The gameplay is designed to be accessible to anyone, with an intuitive set of basic abilities that eliminates the need for memorizing inputs and move-lists. The moves can be canceled to feint an attack, hits can be parried or dodged, and they can clash with one another, creating a mind-game heavy gameplay that mimics real samurai showdowns. The game's cast offers eight unique characters, each with their own stories and fighting styles, ranging from a swift monk using only his fists to a muscular lady with a giant sword that compensates speed and mobility with endurance during her attacks.

The game features six unique stages with hand-drawn textures, set in an alternative version of the Japanese underworld. Overall, Slice, Dice & Rice is a refreshing take on the fighting game genre, and the absence of health bars adds an extra layer of intensity to the gameplay.
